Quist (Jacob Quistgaard) is a Danish-born guitarist, based in Los Angeles. He has been the lead guitarist with British rock legend Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music) since 2014, featuring on his latest album Avonmore, alongside Nile Rodgers, Mark Knopfler, Johnny Marr, Flea and Marcus Miller.
He also runs a successful YouTube Channel, which has garnered more than 60 million views. He continues to expand and interact with his online "jam family", through his original music, jam tracks, improvisations and tour vlogs.
In 2017, FretMonkey Records released Quist's debut instrumental album 'Trigger'. The album features bass players Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd) and Jonathan Harvey (Bill Laurance), drummers Dave De Rose (Mark Ronson) and Cherisse Osei (Mika), as well as keyboard player/producer Magnus Fiennes (Shakira).
Quist studied Jazz for 4 years at the Royal Academy of Music in London, under film music arranger/composer John Ashton Thomas (X-men, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda, Night at the Museum), amongst others. Having his recording debut for Sony Music Denmark whilst still a student, Quist has since had many of his tracks featured on radio, TV and film. He keeps a steady output of new music, with increasing emphasis on his love of music for moving pictures.
As a guitarist, he has performed at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Coachella, Glastonbury and Abbey Road Studios, as well as on many prime time TV & radio shows around the world.
